Service Technician

The ideal candidate will have a wide range of responsibilities including maintenance, repair, and calibration of office equipment. The individual is responsible for the timely and cost-effective maintenance and repair of office product equipment and for promoting and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction with our service and products, thereby influencing the sale of office product equipment that is offered by Hilyard’s. The successful candidate will be a problem solver who is responsive to customers' needs. We support Sharp, Canon and Xerox copiers and printers. Office equipment repair experience is required and experience with the noted manufacturers is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize equipment up-time through timely response and effective and efficient repair with selective customer training to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Manage the utilization of assets and resources to achieve targeted financial results and create superior value for Hilyard’s and our customers
  • Analyze customer needs, recognize business opportunities, and influence sales volume growth
  • Communicate and interact with customers, field service, sales, management, and administration in a way that is courteous, positive and professional
  • Complete all administrative aspects of the job on time and error-free
  • Provide accurate feedback with call close information, parts usage reporting and customer meter readings
  • Perform other activities that support Hilyard’s and our service organization
  • Complete and turn in field reports that capture all time and work completed on site
  • Provide diagnostic analysis, repair, or preventative maintenance to customers
  • Complete on-site system audits and evaluations
  • Practice and adhere to all safety and training

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • 2+ years installing and maintaining machines
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
